The Maine Black Bears women's ice hockey team represents the University of Maine. The team plays their home games in Alfond Arena. The first year of Women's Ice Hockey was in 1997-98. Up to the end of the 2016-17 season, the program record was 213-352-68 (.390). The Black Bears last Post-Season game was February 27, 2016 (Quarterfinals - 2016 Hockey East Tournament, Result: Boston College 5, Maine 1.)

Coaches

The current head coach is Richard Reichenbach. He led Maine to a record of 10-21-1 in the 2016-17 season. Prior to coaching at the University of Maine, Reichenbach was an assistant with Cortland State. Reichenbach is a 2006 graduate of Hamilton College, where he was a hockey and lacrosse standout.
